WILD THINGS!

(School age children through adult – great for families)  

Funny and thoughtful multicultural stories about animals, people and nature with an emphasis on the ecological principles of community, balance, reciprocity and cooperation. The program is a combination of personal experiences with animals and traditional stories from many cultures, including West Africa, the Marshall Islands, Wales, and Native America. Props for stories include bones, feathers, snakeskins and rocks.  

LITTLE BRITCHES: A YOUNG BOY COMES WEST 

(School age through adult)  

In his biographies, Little Britches and Man of the Family, Ralph Moody recounts some of the hilarious and touching adventures of his boyhood life in and around Denver, Colorado during the early 1900's. The stories capture the fun, adventure, hard times and great love of a family more than 100 years ago.

These stories combine traditional myths, legends, and fairy tales from various parts of the world with true stories of modern people finding themselves faced with challenges and mysteries. Traditional stories map a landscape of the human spirit seeking guidance and healing. But it is not only in the ancient tales that we find the qualities of courage and inspiration. True stories of facing illness and fears can teach us how people find and use those qualities in real life. These are stories of companions on the journey - others who have searched as we search, and found richness, love, and wisdom along the way. 

IN THE DARK OF WINTER: STORIES OF LIGHT, GENEROSITY & CELEBRATION  

(School age through adult)    

The weeks before and after the Winter Solstice are full of stories, holidays and celebrations. Human beings have always needed to find hope and connections through the dark time of the year. These are stories of holidays we know well – Christmas, Hannukah, and Kwanzaa. But there are many other stories we are less familiar with that tell of the coming of light and the heart of generosity.
